Objectivity and Subjectivity

BBC News night -  Benefits street

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mszhESGvE_c

The presenter on BBC news night was objective, she maintained objectivity really well, and held the argument together. the interview was staright to the point. The woman was very aggressive towards the interviewee, Owen Jones, was arguing that the show isn't balanced and that by provoking the public to react to the show wasn't fair. Jones says that Ralph lee provokes reaction from the viewers with hashtags on twitter. This gives the chance for the public to say something about the show and they know it will be offensive towards the people on the show and people that are currently living this way in the UK. From this short comment I can see that Owen Jones doesn't agree with Ralph Lee, he is very subjective and very aggressive towards him. Jones is an example of someone who stands up for the people; he argues that the show doesn't show the full reality of how the people on James Turner street actually live. For example, Jones says that it should be more balanced, housing benefits are lining the pockets of private landlords; what Jones is trying to say is that, the show doesn't show the full reality and should be balanced in order for to be a full 'reality'. Ralph Lee stated that the people that were filmed weren't aware of the name of the show which caused another argument between Owen Jones and himself. Again, Jones constantly attacks Ralph lee about the social media for example using #benifitsstreet and says the show could be a bit more balanced.

Ralph Lee resents the phrase 'poverty porn'

Fraser Nelson was the most central.
Question Time-Hard News
Producers were working with the resident of James turner street for almost 2 years. Filmed for a year

Fraser Nelson is more central than Owen jones because jones is more subjective. Nelson is neither objective nore subjective. He says that when people watch the full series they will realise that thsi is our part of our country.

Everyone attacks Ralph Lee, even the presenter.
